The University of Auckland Clinics

Speech-language Therapy

Helping people, of all ages, with communication and swallowing difficulties.

Haere mai and welcome to the University of Auckland Speech-language Therapy clinic.

Our aim is to provide you with the highest standard of therapy and we put you and your whanau at the centre of your care.

Most of our clinics are teaching clinics where you work with one or two student speech-language therapists.  Our students work under the expert supervision of highly trained speech-language therapists and tutors here at the University of Auckland.

A team of clinical supervisors and students – often a team of six or more people - may be behind the scenes designing the best possible programme for an individual client.

Our clinics are equipped with state-of-the-art assessment and therapy tools. As a leading centre for speech-language therapy, our clinical supervisors and students carry out valuable research projects and clients may be invited to participate. No client ever participates in any research project without his or her knowledge or consent.

For information about our research projects and how to take part, speak to your therapist or contact us.  We also welcome feedback on what you have valued about our service and how we can improve.

Mauri ora and best wishes,

Philippa Friary Clinical Director - Speech Science, School of Psychology, Faculty of Science, The University of Auckland
